Assistance with Daily Personal Activities
Personal care and everyday support delivered with dignity — mornings, evenings, medication, mobility and the routines that hold a day together.
Personal care is the most intimate support anyone will ever receive. How it’s delivered matters as much as whether it’s delivered.
Our approach is simple and we hold staff to it: you direct your own care. You say how, in what order, at what pace. The worker’s job is to support what you can’t do yourself and stay out of the way of what you can.
Personal care — showering, bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, shaving, hair, skin care, dressing, and continence support.
Mobility — transfers, hoist use, repositioning, and support with walking aids and wheelchairs. All staff working with equipment are trained on the specific equipment you use, not on a general course.
Medication — prompting, assistance, or administration depending on what’s been assessed and agreed, following clear protocols and recorded every time.
Meals — preparation, and assistance with eating and drinking, including modified diets and thickened fluids where a speech pathologist has set them.
Routines — the shape of a morning or an evening, in the order you want it.
We build a small team around each person rather than sending whoever’s free. There are two reasons. First, you shouldn’t have to explain your own body to a stranger. Second, a worker who knows you notices when something’s different — a mark that wasn’t there yesterday, a change in appetite, a shift in mood. That early notice is often the thing that prevents a hospital admission.
Daily living support works best when it’s connected to the rest of your care. With your consent, we’ll work to plans set by your occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech pathologist, dietitian or GP, and feed observations back to them.
If you have complex or high-intensity support needs, we’ll assess these against the NDIS Practice Standards for high intensity daily personal activities before we start, and put the right training and clinical oversight in place.
This is funded under Assistance with Daily Personal Activities in the Core Supports budget. Some participants also have funding for higher-intensity supports where clinical needs require it.
